HOMELESS OUTREACH

The HOMELESS OUTREACH division packages care and food kits to distribute to the homeless in Georgia, Maryland and Washington D.C.  Our team distributes to those in need primarily in South Atlanta, College Park, Fairburn, and East Point, Georgia.

 

Outreach Essentials (Helping Hands) distributes our care/food kits in Maryland and Washington D.C.

 

Care Kit:

Kits can include any of the following - Band aides, Napkins, Wet Naps, Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Sanitary Napkins, Socks, Blankets, Deodorant, Etc.

 

Food Kit:

Kits can include any of the following - Fruit cups, Juice, Water, Snacks, Chips, Protein Bars, Meal Kits, Canned Meat, Etc.

OBJECTIVE:  

To provide individuals and families with the tools and means to improve self-sufficiency.

EDUCATION & CAREER READINESS

CAREER*LEARNING CENTER

Computer station, history lending library, book distribution for literacy improvement, and literacy projects, local author readings, and business startup support.

FIRST RESPONDER MEALS

 

The HOT MEALS division cooks, bakes, and distributes meals to first responders in the South Fulton County area.

Each month, we host a store giveaway that includes house hold items, toys, electronics, and more.

Registration ONSITE is required.

Dates are TBD and are held once per month.

Each year we host a Thanksgiving Meal Event.

*Another year, we had pans of pre-cooked meat, sides, and vegetables available for all shoppers.

HEALTHY EATING INITIATIVE

Bringing access to fresh produce and plant-based foods to all households.

 

- Inclusion of fresh fruits and vegetables in every day meals.

- Inclusions for dietary restrictions; including food allergies/intolerances.

- Inclusions for health related diets; including diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.

- Inclusion of vegan, plant-based foods.

- Provide easy, low ingredient recipes.

COMMUNITY CLEAN UP

Provide opportunities for residents to clean, improve, and sustain their local communities. 

- Ensure communities are safe and clean through neighborhood clean ups.

- Ensure streets are safe and clean: Adopt A Road.

- Restore community pride.

- Provide plants and flowers to replant in home gardens or on porches.

Cleaning Street Litter

THANKSGIVING UNGALA

Each year we host a Thanksgiving Gala.

 

The gala includes dinner and a silent auction to raise additional funding for FGF programs.

Due to COVID19, the gala will be a TO-GO ORDER and online Facebook Live auction.

Each year we host a Christmas Gift/Toy Give-A-Way. All children ages 0-18 can be registered by a parent/guardian.

 

Gifts/Toy quantities are limited. We can not guarantee that all registered children will receive a gift/toy.

We will confirm EACH child separately based on donations received and Wish Lists.

 

A confirmation will be sent to pick up their gift.

 

DO NOT ATTEND IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE CONFIRMATION FROM FGF.
