FROM SCARCITY TO SECURITY

HEALTHY EATING INITIATIVE:  Bringing access to fresh produce and plant-based foods to all households.

- Redirect surplus retail food from landfills to people in need.

- Inclusion of fresh fruits and vegetables in every day meals.

- Inclusions for dietary restrictions; including food allergies/intolerances.

DIETARY RESTRICTION INCLUSION:  At the forefront of our programming is our attention to dietary needs and restrictions. HOME DELIVERY PROGRAM: Operation E.F.F.O.R.T

OPERATION E.F.F.O.R.T - EMERGENCY FOOD FOR OUR communities, RETIREES, and TEENS.

Nationwide. Registration Required.

FGF expands its reach beyond traditional in-person food banks by offering a direct-to-home service that ensures individuals and families who are unable to visit food distribution centers due to physical constraints, lack of transportation, or other barriers can still receive the assistance they need. This service not only broadens our geographic reach but also enhances the accessibility of our programs on a national scale, making it a critical facet of our approach to eliminating food insecurity.

Many of the families we aim to serve are dealing with circumstances that compound their struggles with food insecurity. This includes:
* Underserved Seniors: People age 60 or older and on fixed disability income are vulnerable to long term food and resource insecurity.
* Health Conditions: Households with members who suffer from chronic illnesses or conditions that necessitate special diets not easily accessible through standard food assistance programs.

HOME DELIVERY PROGRAM: Meals On Wheels 4 Kids GA

MOW4K-GA: HOUSEHOLDS WITH CHILDREN UNDER 18 ONLY

State of Georgia residents only. Registration Required.

Meals on Wheels 4 Kids GA is an initiative designed to ensure that children and teenagers in Georgia, along with their families, have consistent access to nutritious meals, especially outside of school hours.

Recognizing the critical role of nutrition in the developmental years, our program specifically targets the nutritional needs and food security of young individuals. Through the strategic allocation of resources towards the creation of child-friendly, nutritious meal packages, and the establishment of a dedicated delivery system, we aim to bridge the gap in meal accessibility that many families face due to economic hardships, mobility issues, or lack of nearby resources. In addition to direct grocery delivery, a portion of our support goes towards organizing educational workshops on healthy eating and involving youth in volunteer
activities, thus promoting nutritional literacy and community engagement among the younger population.

This comprehensive approach not only addresses immediate food needs but also fosters a foundation for lifelong healthy eating habits. With the support from donors and community partners, Meals on Wheels 4 Kids GA aims to ensure no child in our communities goes to bed hungry.
