Emergency Food Locker

FROM INACCESSIBLE TO ACCESSIBLE

OBJECTIVE: To bring nourishment and resources to individuals and families through the stocking of locally situated food lockers that are open and accessible outside of normal business hours.

DIRECT ACCESS INITIATIVE: Bringing alternative methods of food assistance to communities.

- Redirect surplus retail food from landfills to people in need.

- Inclusion of non-perishable food staples for emergency situation (as supplies allow): 4-8 Canned Goods, 1-2 Side Item (ex. rice, pasta, tuna helper. etc.), 1 Breakfast Item (grits, cereal, etc.), 2 Snack Item(s) (chips, cookies, etc.), 1 Drink (dry milk, shelf-stable mile, juice, etc.), Etc.

December 28, 2025 to January 17, 2025

March 29, 2025 to April 18, 2025

June 28, 2025 to July 31, 2025

September 27, 2025 to October 17, 2025

December 27, 2025 to January 16, 2026

HOW TO USE LOCKER (VETERANS ONLY)

1. Get a locker # and access code from the VFW.

2. Select the "OUT" button

3. Enter the 3-digit locker # (veterans): 001, 002, 003, 004, 005, 006

4. Select the "OK" button

5. Enter the access code.

6. Select the "OK" button.

7. Take your food items.

8. Close the door.
